A traditional kagura dance is dedicated at Takasu Shrine in Itoshima. Founded in the Heian period, the shrine’s existing main hall—built in 1541—is a rare example of medieval wooden architecture and was designated a National Important Cultural Property in 2023. The kagura, said to date back around 550 years, is performed annually during the April spring festival and October night kagura.
